Dave Dickie

Percussionist Dave Dickie’s musical education began early with piano and guitar lessons while he was in elementary and junior high school. His mom, Barbara, was a violinist for the Manchester (CT) Civic (now Symphony) Orchestra and instilled in him an appreciation for music performance. By the time he was in high school, Dave was planted firmly behind a drum kit and playing with local rock bands and jazz quartets.
At The University of Connecticut, Dave was a founding member of The Neybas, a very popular original and cover band that still performs and records throughout New England. He washed ashore on the Cape circa 1988, playing with country ensemble Fiddlesticks for many years and working with Freddie and the Maybellines.
These days, he is enjoying performing with Rick, Doug and Strong T, perfecting the minimalistic approach that he applies to Thumpertown’s music.
