Rob “Strong T” Teplansky is the newest member of Thumpertown. Originally from Austin, TX, Strong T played keyboard with the band, The Wait, performing in clubs all along the legendary 6th Street in downtown Austin in the early to mid 80s.

In 1985, Strong T moved to Boston and formed The Relatives with keyboard player Ted Miller. Strong T switched to guitar and vocals, occasionally filling in on bass guitar. The Relatives played legendary Boston area venues like T.T. the Bear’s, Bunratty’s, The Rathskeller, Green Street Station, and The Channel before disbanding in 1992. The band played originals, mostly co-written by Strong T and Miller, including Why Do Trolls Need Sunglasses Anyway, I Love Work (It’s A Sedative), Lizard, and Do To Me Again.

Strong T began recording again in 2015, producing his first single in many years, Life’s A Gas In The Greenhouse. Over a period of several years, he finished ten more tracks, all of which were collected in the album, M.E. VI (a requiem), which was released in 2022. He followed this up with another single, Gently For Tomorrow (Anthem Mix) in 2023, and an ambient track, Deep Blue Meditation I, in 2024.

Strong T joined Thumpertown in late 2023, playing bass guitar, keybords, and singing both lead and backing vocals. The group developed material and rehearsed throughout the winter and opened the 2024 Cape Cod season to a packed and raucus crowd at the Lost Dog Pub in Orleans, MA on April 6, 2024.
